A Beautiful Company

Laurence Sotsky, CEO

I lead a beautiful company.

It’s a powerful company entrusted with the management of more than $22,000,000,000 in assets, a number which has doubled every six months for the past two years. While I am honored by both that trajectory and resulting number in and of itself, truly, it is what that number represents of which I am most proud: for that $22B represents a better world. It represents thousands of good paying jobs, hundreds of hectares of brown field mitigation, dozens and dozens of factories and movies and historical buildings which will define communities for generations to come.

It’s a diligent company committed in its very being to aligning the public and private sectors such that real communities survive and prosper in the globalized economy. Make no mistake, that is the purpose of C&I. It is a practical solution in the real world that creates good jobs, restores the environment, and revitalizes infrastructure and Incentify is the only way to effectively manage it at the enterprise level.

It’s a timely company fighting to reshape the popular narrative around C&I. All too often, the headlines hone in on outlier C&I packages and decry them as “corporate welfare.” Nevermind the reality that welfare is, by definition, contingent upon the ongoing need of a recipient while C&I is contingent upon the ongoing output and achievement of a recipient, the very vast majority of C&I are much smaller statutory initiatives which fall under capped spending limits. Governments don’t go broke on C&I, rather, their constituencies go broke without the business community C&I secures.

It’s a fintech company able to support itself without over-relying on debt or external investment. Yet our growth remains exponential because - gasp - we actually have sales. Furthermore, you won’t ever read about us on LinkedIn congratulating ourselves for securing another $100MM round of funding. We may not be the flashiest company but neither is the incredible asset to which we are dedicated.

More than a beautiful company, though, I lead the only company in existence exclusively committed to fulfilling the vital and previously vacant role of integrated end-to-end asset management in the critical work encompassed by, and achieved through C&I.

So, whether you work entirely within C&I or whether your role interacts with it infrequently, I would invite you to take a moment to step back from the day to day and the paperwork of successfully executing C&I to look holistically at the impact of this unique asset. It is one of the very few, very important assets inherently tethered to government efficacy, business development, and community improvement - and it may be the only such asset additionally challenged with the directive to be measurable. Yet in so doing, we are able to say some extraordinary things with the cumulative C&I managed on the Incentify platform. I’ll let you look at that for yourself here.
